I read about the life cycle of the butterfly. An important vocabulary word in my book is thorax. It is the part of the body that holds the wings.
A butterfly’s compound eyes see colors and patterns on flowers that our eyes cannot see. Monarch butterflies can lay their eggs under a leaf or on top of the leaf. A caterpillar breathes through tiny holes along its body called spiracles.
I really like what you said about butterflies, it gives good information. I didn’t know that butterflies can see patterns that we can’t.
Hello,
Thanks for the wonderful information about butterflies. They are amazing. I had no idea that they had compound eyes that can see colors and patterns that we can’t see. I wonder how that helps them? Spirales is such a cool word. Imagine breathing through holes in your sides.
What is your favorite type of butterfly?
