Snow

Snow is amazing because you can make snowmen and snow horses and snow dragons and snow bunnies.  When Christmas comes, there are presents, and your stockings are full of toys and candy, and you can look out the window and there are snowflakes falling from the sky.  You can go outside and play in the snow and have a snowball fight.  Then you go inside, and there is hot cocoa waiting at the table.  Snow!

Thankful Things . . . .

I’m thankful for my class, my school, my teacher, my cats, my family, grapes, the water and food I get to drink and eat, my principal, my pumpkin, that Jesus died on the cross for us, that the Lord made us and the beautiful earth for us to live on, and much, much more.

Life Cycle of a Butterfly

I read about the life cycle of the butterfly.  An important vocabulary word in my book is thorax.  It is the part of the body that holds the wings.

A butterfly’s compound eyes see colors and patterns on flowers that our eyes cannot see.  Monarch butterflies can lay their eggs under a leaf or on top of the leaf.  A caterpillar breathes through tiny holes along its body called spiracles.

Summer is Going Away

I will pack away my summer clothes,

And pack away all my summer stuff.

I will get ready for the fall,

But I will keep packing until it is done.

Summer is sad to leave,

But I am excited for fall!

Summer will pass away,

And I will get ready for fall!

I can smell the leaves already.

I can see the sun go down earlier.

I can taste it in the fresh, cold air.

It is fun in fall,

But I like summer too.

Vertebrate Project: Horses

  1. Horses are large tamed mammals that are incredibly strong and smart.
  2. Horses can live in the wild.
  3. A foal is a baby horse and has skinny, long legs.  It can be really hard for them to walk.
  4. A horse has a back and a hip.
  5. A foal is so small that a man can pick it up.
